Rudy’s
Tales: Poor
Man's Four
Wheel Drive
& Tent
|
|
|
|
"
Many years
ago, on a
sunny fall
Sunday
morning,
when both of
my two sons
were still
very young,
I decided to
take my wife
and sons
fishing for
the day. I
was living
in north
central
British
Columbia at
the time and
a friend had
told me
about a
serene, but
remote, lake
with lots of
hungry, one
pound
trout,but
fairly
inaccessible
and that the
only
possible way
to drive in
there was
with a
4-wheel
drive
vehicle..."

Survival
Guide : Uses
for Rope
|
|
|
|
"In
my seven day
survival
vest, I
carry many
things,
including
100 feet of
thin strong
nylon rope
which I
store in the
back of my
vest. Rope
is very
handy out
into the
bush. I have
used it not
only just
for camping,
but it has
gotten me
out of some
very tight
situations."

Step 16:
Financing.
Now that
you’ve found
your perfect
property,
you need to
find the
funds with
which to
purchase it.
I believe
that there
is no deal
which cannot
be financed
as long as
the price is
below market
value. Now,
while most
people think
that they
need cash on
the table to
purchase
recreational
land, that
is not
always the
case. There
are many
different
options
which you
can explore
when
arranging
financing
for your
property.
Step 16 of
my Twenty
Step System,
Financing
, deals
with the
different
ways that
you can
finance the
purchase of
your dream
property.

Deals in

When
it comes to
the hottest
real estate
market in
British
Columbia,
the Gulf
Islands rank
pretty near
the top.
These
islands
between the
Lower
Mainland and
Victoria are
picturesque
and serene.
What if we
told you
about
another
group of
islands, one
that doesn’t
get as much
advertisement,
but just as
quiet and
beautiful?
We’re
talking
about the
Discovery
Islands, the
island chain
found just
north of
Campbell
River,
between
Northern
Vancouver
Island and
the
mainland.
These
islands
offer the
same style
of living as
their
southern
sisters. How
do the two
chains
compare?

Time
Travelling-
The
Destruction
of Ripple
Rock- 1958 |
|
|
|
The
boat
crossing at
Seymour
Narrows has
always been
a
challenging
passage.
However, not
too long
ago, the
word
“challenging”
would have
been an
understatement.
While
today’s
boaters
merely have
to deal with
“treacherous
currents,
swirling
eddies, and
turbulent
tide-rips”,
until 1958,
boaters had
to deal with
“Old Rip”.

Northern
Vancouver
Island is a
tale of two
coastlines.
The eastern
coast, with
its calm
protected
waters is a
favorite for
many
kayakers who
head into
the
Desolation
Sound Marine
Park.
However,
just as much
of a
favorite is
the
challenging
waters of
the
unprotected
west coast
of Vancouver
Island, with
winds and
currents
coming
direct from
Asia. NIHO
would like
to review
our favorite
sea kayaking
areas in the
Northern
Vancouver
Island area.
